Positive Stories
My collection of Positive Birthing Stories aims to illustrate to expectant mothers what is possible, that ultimately women are designed to give birth. My aim is to offer an alternative to the dramatic and negative stories expectant mothers often hear and provide women with realistic and positive ones.
In order to support women I feel it is vital to have real life, honest and positive stories about birth. In reading these stories I hope women will be able to see what is possible rather than expecting a birth with complications and approaching birth with fear.
I hope that other women's experiences will empower expectant mothers to be open to the possibilities of a positive experience for themselves.
This section of the website is a work in progress, as I get the stories I am adding them to the site, eventually I hope to have enough for an e-book which will be available to buy. I am always looking for more stories so if you know anyone who has had a positive birthing experience please let them know about this website.
I have approached the collection of these stories without judgment. All the Birthing Stories on this website have been donated by women who, for some reason, felt their birthing experience was positive. I have tried to keep the stories in their own words as much as possible although some editing has been necessary. Names have been changed where requested.
What I have found from talking to women is that each experience is unique. Women who have had a positive birth seem to have approached their birthing experience in the way that is best for them. Some women found they didn’t want to read up about birthing, others found that they felt more empowered but arming themselves with knowledge. Some women needed people with them and others felt they needed to be alone. I am writing these stories for others to show them the possibilities of birthing in the hope it will empower women to have the best possible birthing experience for themselves. Remember everyone’s birthing experience is different.
I wish you the very best for your own birthing experience.
Thank you for your interest.

I am most grateful to those women who have already donated their stories without them all this would not be possible.
Please accept my heartfelt thanks for your support.
